Bugaboo Bee Stroller Recall Information – June

Bugaboo BeeThe Bugaboo Bee Stroller had a recall on June 2, 2009.  I realize that was a few months ago but I think it’s important to mention this one since this is such a popular stroller.  This recall is regarding the brake system.  One or both sides of the brakes (this stroller is one that has more than one brake – which is an important safety feature to have in case you are looking for your next stroller) can FAIL.  This is dangerous because you could be using the brake(s) to prevent the stroller from rolling away while you are on an incline.

This includes Bugaboo Bee Strollers that were bought between August 2007 through April 2009 for about $530.

This recall involves about 22,500 Bugaboo Bee strollers that have item code 580210 on a label on the back of the seat and item code 50100 on a label on the plastic support under the seat. “bugaboo® bee” is printed on the left side of the seat. The strollers were sold in blue, dark khaki, pink, red, yellow, and black.

If you even think you might have one of these particular strollers – please stop using the stroller immediately and contact Bugaboo so you can get your free repair kit (yes, they make you repair it yourself – but they do include the parts and instructions :) .

To order the bracket kit, go to www.bugaboo.com and fill in the special order form or contact Bugaboo customer service. For more information, contact Bugaboo at (800) 460-2922 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, visit www.bugaboo.com, or email bugaboobee-service@bugaboo.com.
